Claude Code and Codex support coding work across repositories and multiple files. Local clients can work within a development environment, while cloud tasks use a separate execution environment. Agents may edit files or run commands, so review and permission controls are part of the product experience.
Coding subscriptions can combine seats, included model usage and additional consumption charges. Enterprise products such as Tabnine also offer private deployment and governance options. A model-provider bill may remain separate when a tool supports a personal API key.
Repository agents can read and modify multiple files, and some can run commands or tests. The available actions and permission controls depend on the product and environment.
Some provide their own editor, while others work through IDE extensions, terminals or cloud interfaces. The collection includes both approaches.
