Guided student activities with educator oversight
SchoolAI Spaces are configured around a teacher’s goals, grade level, standards, instructions and reference documents. The creator supports up to six outcomes and eight agenda steps. Teachers can preview an activity before launching it, then pause an active Space when they need to change its instructions.
Students join with a code, link, QR code or supported LMS. A typed join name does not verify student identity; LMS connections handle identity separately. Leaving the browser does not end an activity: the teacher must end the Space. Teacher and administrator discoverability settings are distinct from a student’s ability to join.
Mission Control provides student chats, progress, outcome views, AI-generated insights and Smart Groups. Its Class Mastery calculation uses engaged outcome evaluations and excludes students marked Not Started. This is an in-product classroom signal, rather than an independent measure of the platform’s educational effectiveness. Student Headlines and safety alerts also need teacher judgement.
Eligible Scale access adds rostered Student Portals, Sidekick and the Student Insights dashboard. Teachers see students assigned to their roster, while administrators have organisation scope. The newer dashboard replaces older Session History views. Sidekick availability windows and safety-alert routing have additional organisation controls; a signal does not automatically perform a follow-up action.
PowerUps include documents, presentations, images and video activities with plan-specific availability. Current Video Explorer pauses YouTube playback for editable timed questions, including multiple-choice and true-or-false items; dedicated progress reporting is still described as forthcoming. Voice access supports approximately 100 speech-input languages and broader multilingual output, separate from translation-language counts in the pricing matrix.
Best for
- Teachers designing guided classroom AI activities
- Schools seeking visibility into student AI conversations
- Districts coordinating rostered student access
Limitations
The Free Trial limits launches to five per year. Some PowerUps, student uploads and organisation dashboards require paid access. Classroom insights and safety alerts are AI signals requiring educator review; student join names alone do not validate identity.

What is SchoolAI used for?
Teachers create guided student AI activities in Spaces and monitor conversations and progress through Mission Control.
Is SchoolAI free?
The current Free Trial includes five Space launches per year. Pro and Scale use custom pricing and expand classroom and organisation capabilities.
How do students join SchoolAI Spaces?
They can join using a code, link, QR code or supported LMS. A typed join name is different from verified LMS identity.
Does closing the browser end a Space?
No. The teacher must end the activity; closing a browser window does not end it.
Does every plan include Sidekick and Student Insights?
Those features require the relevant Scale plan and rostering. Access follows teacher and organisation roles.
Are SchoolAI mastery scores independent benchmarks?
No. Class Mastery is an in-product signal calculated from eligible student outcome evaluations. It does not establish an independently measured learning benefit.
