A meeting library with summaries and follow-up notes
Fathom keeps a recording, transcript and summary together so you can revisit decisions after a call. Highlighted moments can become shareable clips, while action items keep follow-up work attached to the conversation. Team plans add shared history and collaboration; higher tiers offer additional CRM and administrative features.
Account-Wide Ask Fathom answers questions across meetings you are permitted to view. The October 2026 help guide describes access to unlimited meeting history on all plans, with possible Free usage limits from November. The new iPhone app records in-person conversations and lets you review summaries, transcripts and tasks. At launch, it requires internet for capture and processing and does not include Ask Fathom, meeting search or phone-call recording.
Fathom is centered on captured meetings rather than transcribing an archive of uploaded files: external recording uploads are unsupported. Transcripts are copied as text instead of downloaded directly as document or subtitle files. Its August 2026 privacy policy permits de-identified meeting content to improve its own AI depending on account settings, with an opt-out; third-party AI providers are not authorized to train on personal or meeting content.

Limitations
External audio/video uploads are unsupported, and direct transcript-file export is unavailable. Team and Business require two users. Mac bot-free capture is beta; iPhone capture needs internet, cannot record phone calls and lacks Ask/search at launch. Account settings govern Fathom’s own de-identified training use.

Is Fathom free?
Yes. Free includes unlimited recordings, transcription and storage with standard summaries. Advanced features vary by plan; the October 2026 account-wide Ask guide notes possible Free usage limits from November.
Can Fathom transcribe uploaded audio or video?
No. Its current help documentation says external recording uploads are unsupported. It captures supported meetings and in-person conversations through the iPhone app.
Can Fathom export SRT subtitles or transcript documents?
There is no direct transcript-file download. Copy transcript text to the clipboard instead. Permitted recordings download as MP4; MP3 is described as forthcoming, not currently available.
Does Fathom have a mobile app?
Yes, an iPhone app is available on all plans. It records in-person conversations and reviews notes and recordings. At launch it needs internet and has no phone-call recording, Ask Fathom or meeting search; Android is unavailable.
